"Jannsen" is 1.5 year old female, Malinois trained as a K-9 Drug Dog. She trained for 2 years in New Market, Alabama before being matched with K-9 Officer Rodney Shirey. Training as partners continued for another 8 weeks. During this time both dog and man were introduced to "Active Duty" exercises including drug searches, rescues and getting to know one another. They are constant companions now as they rely on one another while working. Jannsen has a comfortable 10'x10' kennel at home, rides in a temperature controlled vehicle year round, a special diet and she is ready to do her job at any time. To date she has been instrumental in searches where drugs are suspected to be involved.
